About ILS - Institute of Life Sciences is an autonomous institute of higher education for research and education in life sciences. Its administrative control was taken over by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India in August 2002 and declared a National Centre for excellence in 2003. It has three faculties — Infectious Disease Biology; Gene Function and Regulation; and Translation Research and Technology Development for higher research.
Candidates must have M.Sc. / M. Tech (any branch of Life Sciences or Bioinformatics) with a minimum of 60% marks (or equivalent grade point). Candidates awaiting final results may also apply.
Candidates need to produce their final mark sheet on the day of the interview if shortlisted.
b) Candidates must have qualified in CSIR/UGC-JRF or ICMR-JRF or DBT-JRF. They should have a valid fellowship for the full term. They should have qualified in any one of these examinations conducted not earlier than last one year.
Selected candidates will be allowed to register for the PhD program. Only names of shortlisted candidates will be published on the Institute website, and separate call letter will not be issued. The decision of the Director regarding the selection of the candidates will be final.
