WBPSC or West Bengal Public Service Commission has announced a job notification on July 17, 2018, for the posts of Audit and Accounts Service in the State of West Bengal. Total 40 posts are declared by the Commission. The Details of the posts are given in Advertisement No. 20 / 2018 all these posts are declared on the temporary basis. The Online submission of the application form starts on July 17, 2018, and ends on August 06, 2018.

Educational Qualification

Interested Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from a recognized University or must be a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India or must be a Member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India or MBA/PGDM (FINANCE) or equivalent post-graduation degree in Finance under 2 (Two) years full time regular course approved by All India Council for Technical Education.

Selection Process

The Selection process for the posts depends upon the two stages i.e (A) Preliminary Examination (B) Main Examination followed by Personality Test. A number of candidates to be selected on the results of the Preliminary Examination will be allowed admission to the Main Examination and a number of candidates to be selected on the results of the Main Examination will be called to appear at the Personality Test.

(A) Preliminary Test:- The Preliminary Test exam will consist of two Groups of Paper. The question paper will be of objective type consisting of 200 multiple choice questions. The paper will carry 200 marks and will be of 2½ hours duration.

The paper will consist of two groups, i.e. Group – A & Group – B. The paper will include questions covering the following fields:-

(B) Main Examination:- The Main Examination will be held in two parts viz. (1) Written Examination and (2) Personality Test. Further, the Written Examination will consist of (a) Compulsory Papers and (b) Optional Papers and Personality Test consist of 200 marks. A number of candidates selected in order of merit on the results of the Written Examination, will be called to the Personality Test.

The paper will include questions covering the following fields:-

Optional Papers (100 marks for each paper): Candidates shall have to choose three (3) papers taking one from each group, viz. Group – A, Group – B & Group – C.

Group – A: A 1: Macroeconomics & Public Finance. A 2: Indian Financial System. A 3: Economic Principles & Indian Economic Problems. 

Group – B: B 1: Business Regulatory Framework. B 2 : Cost & Management Accounting. B 3: Advanced Accountancy.

Group – C: C 1: Business Management. C 2: Direct & Indirect Taxation. C 3: Information Technology & its application in Business.

How to apply

Application Fees - Rs.210/-. SC/ST candidates of West Bengal are not required to pay any fee. No Exemption of fee is available to BC candidates of West Bengal/SC/ST/BC Candidates of Other States.

Modes of Payment and Convenience Fees- 

(i) For online payment through debit/credit cards: Convenience fee 1% of the examination fee subject to a minimum of Rs. 5/- (Rupees Five) only plus 18% G.S.T. on convenience fee.

(ii) For online payment through net banking: Convenience fee of Rs. 5/- (Rupees Five) only plus 18% G.S.T. on convenience fee.

(iii) For offline payment through bank counter: Service Charge of Rs. 20/- (Rupees Twenty) only.
