WBP-West Bengal Police has announced a notification on March 31, 2018, for the post of Male Constables. The notification is declared in (Notification No. 5746-PL/PB/14M-05/16) by the West Bengal Police.Total recruitment for the post of Constable is announced as 5702.Submission of online applications for the posts will start on April 01, 2018 and ends on April 30, 2018.
डब्ल्यूबीपी-पश्चिम बंगाल पुलिस ने 31 मार्च, 2018 को पुरुष कॉन्स्टेबल के पद के लिए एक अधिसूचना की घोषणा की है। पश्चिम बंगाल पुलिस द्वारा अधिसूचना (अधिसूचना सं। 5746-पीएल / पीबी / 14 एम-05/16) में घोषित की गई है। कांस्टेबल के पद के लिए कुल भर्ती 5702 के रूप में घोषित की गई हैI पदों के लिए ऑनलाइन आवेदन प्रस्तुत करना 1 अप्रैल 2018 से शुरू होगा और 30 अप्रैल, 2018 को समाप्त होगा।
About West Bengal Police:-The West Bengal Police(WBP) is one of the two police forces of the Indian State of West Bengal. Shri Surajit Kar Purkayastha, an IPS officer of 1985 batch is the DG & IGP of West Bengal Police since May 31, 2016.
Candidate must have passed Madhyamik Examination from the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or its equivalent and the applicant must be able to speak, read and write the Bengali language.
Candidates for the particular posts have to pass the following phases of selection:-
Phase 1:- Preliminary Written Test (Full Marks – 100):- Eligible candidates will have to appear in an MCQ based preliminary written test which is qualifying in nature. There would be 100 objective type questions having multiple choice (four choices) of answers carrying equal marks each. The duration of this test will be 1(one) hour. And the paper contains:-
i. General Awareness and General Knowledge: 50 Marks.
ii. Elementary Mathematics (Madhyamik standard): 30 Marks.
iii. Reasoning: 20 Marks.
Phase 2:-Physical Measurement Test (PMT):- The physical standards (height and weight) of the candidates as given under 3(e) will be tested by using Electronic Machines of those who qualify in the Preliminary Written Test.
Phase 3:- Physical Efficiency Test (PET):- Candidates who will qualify in PMT will be allowed to take part in PET which consists of 1600 (Sixteen hundred) meters run within 06 (six) minutes 30 (thirty) seconds.
Phase 4:-Final Written Examination:(Full Marks – 85):- All the candidates who qualify in the Physical Measurement Test (PMT) & Physical Measurement Test (PET) will be called to appear in the Final Written Examination to be conducted by the West Bengal Police Recruitment Board. The Final Written Examination will have 85 (eighty-five) Multiple Choice (Four choices) Objective Type Questions (MCQs) carrying equal marks each. The duration of the examination will be 1 (One) hour.
A. General Awareness and General Knowledge - 25 Marks.
B. English - 25 Marks.
C. Elementary Mathematics (Madhyamik standard) - 20 Marks.
D. Reasoning and Logical Analysis - 15 Marks.
Phase 5: -Interview: Full Marks – 15; A limited number of candidates will be called for Interview in accordance with merit. In the Interview, the general awareness and suitability of the candidate for public service will be tested.

Application fee:- Rs.150/- for all categories except Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe (of West Bengal only) and there is no fee for the application of SC/ST candidates.
