RBI Reserve Bank of India announced a notification for the posts of Officers in Grade'B'. Total 166 posts are announced by the Bank. The details of the posts are given in Advt.No. 6A /2017-18. The last date to apply for the posts through online mode is July 23, 2018.

RBIआरबीआई रिजर्व बैंक ऑफ इंडिया ने ग्रेड 'बी' में अधिकारियों की पदों के लिए अधिसूचना की घोषणा की। बैंक द्वारा कुल 166 पदों की घोषणा की गई है। पदों का ब्योरा Adv.No.No में दिया गया है। 6 ए / 2017-18। ऑनलाइन मोड के माध्यम से पदों के लिए आवेदन करने की आखिरी तारीख 23 जुलाई, 2018 है।

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is India's central banking institution, which controls the monetary policy of the Indian rupee. It commenced its operations on 1 April 1935 in accordance with the Reserve Bank of India. The RBI plays an important part in the Development Strategy of the Government of India.

Educational Qualification

The educational details of all the posts are stated as:-

  • For the Posts of  Officers in Grade 'B' (DR) - (General):- The Candidates must have a minimum of 60% marks (50% in case of SC/ST/PwBD) or an equivalent grade in Bachelor's degree as well as in 12th (or Diploma or equivalent) and 10th Standard examinations.
  • For the posts of Officers in Grade 'B' (DR) - DEPR:- The Candidates must have a  Master's Degree in Economics / Econometrics / Quantitative Economics / Mathematical Economics / Integrated Economics Course/ Finance, with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters /years from a recognised .
  • For the posts of Officers in Grade 'B' (DR) - DSIM:-The Candidates must have a   Master's Degree in Statistics/ Mathematical Statistics/ Mathematical Economics/ Econometrics/ Statistics & Informatics from IIT-Kharagpur/ Applied Statistics & Informatics from IIT-Bombay with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade. or must have a Master's Degree in Mathematics with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years and one-year postgraduate diploma in Statistics.

Selection Process

The Selection process for all the posts are described as:-

For the Posts of  Officers in Grade 'B' (DR) - (General):- Selection will be through ONLINE Examinations and interview. And in detail, the exams are described as:-

Phase 1:- Online Examination:- The paper consists of 200 marks and the time duration for the exam will be 120 minutes. Depending on the number of candidates, the examination may be held in multiple shifts and on some other days also. The Paper will consist tests of i. General Awareness ii. English Language iii. Quantitative Aptitude and; iv. Reasoning. The Candidates qualifying in phase 1 will be able to give next exam.

Phase 2:- The phase 2 exam will further sub-divided into three paper and they are:-

Paper 1:-Economic and Social Issues:- The paper contains the subtopics and they are Growth and Development – Measurement of growth: National Income and per capita income – Poverty Alleviation and Employment Generation in India – Sustainable Development and Environmental issues. Economic Reforms in India – Industrial and Labour Policy etc.

Paper 2:- English (Writing Skills): The paper on English shall be framed in a manner to assess the writing skills including expression and understanding of the topic.

Paper 3:- Finance and Management: The paper contains the subtopics and they are Financial System, Financial Markets, General Topics, Management.

Interview:- Candidates will be shortlisted for the interview, based on the aggregate of marks obtained in Phase-II (Paper-I +Paper-II +Paper-III). An interview will be of 50 marks.

Selection process For the Posts of Officers in Grade 'B' (DR) - DEPR:- There are 3 papers for the Examination. And the details of the paper is:-

Candidates, who secure minimum aggregate marks in Paper I, as prescribed, will be shortlisted for Paper-II/ Paper III of the examination based on the marks obtained in Paper-I. And the Syllabus of the exam is : (i) Standard of papers on Economics would be that of Master's Degree examination in Economics of any Central University in India. (ii) Syllabus for English: Essay, Précis writing, Comprehension and Business/Office Correspondence.

Selection process For the Posts of Officers in Grade 'B' (DR) – DSIM- 2018:- Selection will be through Online/ Written Examination and interview. There are 3 papers for the Examination.

Candidates, who secure minimum aggregate marks in Paper I, as prescribed, will be shortlisted for Paper-II/ Paper III of the examination based on the marks obtained in Paper-I. The syllabus for the papers are:-

Paper-I: Questions would cover Probability: Definition of Probability, Standard distribution, Large and small sample theory, Analysis of Variance, Estimation, Testing of Hypotheses, Multivariate analysis, and Stochastic Processes.

Paper-II: Questions would cover (i) Probability and Sampling, (ii) Linear Models and Economic Statistics, (iii) Statistical Inference: Estimation, Testing of hypothesis and Nonparametric Test, (iv) Stochastic Processes. (v) Multivariate analysis and (vi) Numerical Analysis and Basic Computer Techniques. There will be sufficient choice for candidates to attempt the required number of questions from any three or more of the above six groups.

Paper-III: English: Essay, Précis writing, Comprehension and Business/Office Correspondence.

At last, List of Selected Candidates will be displayed on Official Website.

How to apply

Application fee:- Rs.100/- for SC/ST/PwBD Candidates and Rs.850/- for GEN/OBC Candidates. The fee can be paid through the Online Mode.

Candidates, please note if they are trying to fill an application form for more than one post than the Application fee Charges will be applied for both the posts are different.

Follow the following steps:-

1. Eligible Candidates Can apply Online through the Official Website of the Reserve Bank of India:https://rbidocs.rbi.org.in. At the Home Page click on Opportunities@RBI Tab and then select the Current Vacancies at there Vacancies section click on the hyperlink “Online Application Form” in the Advertisement page for filling the ‘Online Application’.

2. There is to register their application by entering their basic information in the online application form. The system will generate a provisional registration number and password. The Registration number and password is also sent to the Candidates by SMS on their Mobiles.

3. The can open their Application form by using the Registration Number and Password. And also enter their Details like Personal or educational in the prescribed format.

4. Next step is to Upload your Scanned Documents list:- (a) Candidates recent Photograph in the passport size of (4.5cm × 3.5cm). (b) Candidates signature must be in size(140 x 60 pixels), Signature in CAPITAL LETTERS will NOT be accepted. (c) left thumb impression of the Candidate that should be verified at the time of examination also. (d) a handwritten declaration by Candidate. The declaration contains the text " “I, _______ (Name of the candidate), hereby declare that all the information submitted by me in the application form is correct, true and valid. I will present the supporting documents as and when required.” A declaration should be scanned and must be handwritten by the Candidate in English language only.

5. There is an option of Examination Centers. The Exam Center will be Selected of your own Choice and convenience.

6. Validate your details and Save your application by clicking the 'Validate your details' and 'Save & Next' button.

7. Next Step is to Pay your Application form. The fee can be paid through the Online mode. Through Online Mode:- The payment can be made by using Debit Cards (RuPay/Visa/MasterCard/Maestro), Credit Cards, Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Cards/ Mobile Wallets by providing information as asked on the screen. After Successful completion of the Application fee, an e-receipt will be generated.

8. Then, Candidates are advised to take a printout of the e-receipt and online application form. An email/ SMS intimation with the Registration Number and Password generated on successful registration of the application will be sent to the candidate’s email ID/ Mobile Number.
