A Bachelor’s Degree in Science or Commerce or Arts with minimum 50% marks.
30 words per Minute English typing speed on PC.
Should have passed a Certificate Course of a duration of not less than 6 months on MS- Windows Operating System and Desktop Applications such as MS Office (Word, Excel, Access and Power Point), e-mail Management and Internet Surfing. However, this will not apply to the candidates who have studied computer science/computer applications as one of the subjects in their school or college curriculum.

Assistant Gr. 1 (F&A) A Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce with minimum 50% marks.
30 words per Minute English typing speed on PC.
Should have passed a Certificate Course of a duration of not less than 6 months on MS- Windows Operating System and Desktop Applications such as MS Office (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint), e-mail Management and Internet Surfing. Steno Gr. 1 A Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with minimum 50% marks.
A speed of 40 w.p.m. in English typing on PC. A speed of 80 w.p.m. in English Stenography. Preference will be given to those candidates who possess knowledge of Hindi typing/Hindi Stenography.
Should have passed a Certificate Course of the duration of not less than 6 months on MS- Windows Operating System and Desktop Applications such as MS Office (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint), e-mail Management and Internet Surfing. However, this will not apply to the candidates who have studied computer science/computer applications as one of the subjects in their school or college curriculum.

Selection Process

Selection will be done on the basis of Written Examination + Skill Test.

Written Test:-Stage-1-Preliminary Test (1 Hour Duration) and Stage-2-Advanced Test (2 Hours Duration).

Stage-1-Preliminary Test (1 Hour Duration):- It will be a screening examination to be held to shortlist candidates. The format of the screening examination shall be common for all the non-technical cadres. In keeping with the minimum educational qualification of graduation as per the Recruitment Norms, the questions will be of Graduation level. The examination will consist of 50 multiple choice questions (Choice of four answers) of 01 (one) hour duration in the following proportion:

General Knowledge & Current Affairs 25 Questions
Computer Knowledge 15 Questions
English 10 questions

The Test will be of 01 (one) hour duration for a maximum 150 marks.

03 (Three) marks to be awarded for each correct answer and 01 (one) mark to be deducted for each incorrect answer.

Tests may be conducted in single/multiple sessions depending upon logistics requirements.

Qualifying Standards: The qualifying standards shall be as follows: General Category (UR) – 40% marks; OBC/ PWBD – 30% marks.

Accordingly, the General Candidates < 40% marks and the candidates belonging to OBC/PWBD with < 30% marks will be screened out for Stage-2.

Stage-2 –Advanced Test:- The Test will be of 02 (two) hours duration for a maximum of 150 marks. The test will comprise 50 Multiple choice questions (Choice of four answers) from the following syllabus:

03 (Three) marks to be awarded for each correct answer and 01 (one) mark to be deducted for each incorrect answer.

Qualifying Standards: The qualifying standards shall be as follows: General Category (UR) – 30% marks; OBC/ PWBD – 20% marks

Accordingly, the General Candidates < 30% marks and the candidates belonging to OBC/PWBD with < 20% marks will be screened out for Stage-3.

Note: Candidates to undertake the Preliminary and Advance Test on the same day. Preliminary Test will be carried out in the morning session and the advanced test for candidates screened in for Stage-2 to be carried out in the afternoon/evening session

Stage-3:-Skill Test:- The number of candidates shortlisted for Skill Test would depend upon the number of candidates qualifying for Stage-2 but shall not exceed 5 times the number of vacancies for each post. 

Skill test for Assistant Grade-1 - Typewriting Test on Personal Computer (PC); and  Computer Proficiency Test.

Skill test for Steno Grade-1 - Stenography Test, Typewriting Test on Personal Computer (PC); and Computer Proficiency Test.

Candidates clearing the Skill Test to be shortlisted and empanelled in order of merit based on marks secured in Stage-2.

How to apply

The Candidate should follow the following steps and they are:-

1. Candidates need to open the Official Website of NPCIL: https://npcilcareers.co.in. Click on Apply => Online Registration from the top / left for registration.
2. The applicant is required to furnish all basic information such as Name, Date of Birth, Category, Email, Mobile number, PWD details, experience details, percentage marks, email address, contact mobile number etc and other exemption details, if applicable.
3. The applicant is required to activate the account by clicking on the activation link received through email after completing registration in Step 1.
4. On successful completion of this activation, candidates can log in using their login id and password to apply online.
5. A candidate is required to fill in all the details of his / her Educational Qualifications, Work Experience if any etc.
6. Candidate should scan his / her photograph in JPG format, of size not more than 50KB and a minimum of 125 x 165 pixels (4.4 x 5.8 in cm) in dimensions and signature in JPG format of size not more than 20KB and a minimum of 125 x 80 pixels (4.4 x 2.9 cm) in dimensions And Upload in the given area.
7. Then Candidate should verify their all details and then "Submit Application".
8. Take a print out of the Application form for future use.
