Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS Recruitment), a Unit of Indian Space Research Organisation (lSRO), is a premier institute for capacity building and research in the field of Remote Sensing and Geoinformatics. Walk-in-Interview for IIRS Recruitment will be conducted on 25th, 26th and 27th of October.

• In case of M.Sc degree should be in first class with an aggregate minimum of  65% (average of all semesters) or CGPA/CPI grading of 6.84 on an Interview scale or equivalent. The candidate must be NET or Equivalent! qualified in any year in a relevant subject.

• In the case of M. Tech in Geo-Informatics or its equivalent should be in first class with an aggregate minimum of 60% or CGPA /CPI grading of 6.5 on a 10 scale or equivalent.

Knowledge of designing and developing Web-based GIS applications using FOSS4G tools (Geoserver, Mapserver, PostgreSQLIPOSTGIS, OpenLayers, Leaflets etc.) and Mobile App development. GIS database creation and management using Open Source and COTS software. Experienced candidates will be given preference. The fellowship will be offered initially for a period of one year up to March 2019 or an earlier date which shall depend on fund availability under the project. RA 02

Doctorate or equivalent in Remote Sensing & GIS / Geomatics / Computer Science OR equivalent or having 3 (three) years of research, teaching and design and development experience after M.E.lM.Tech. in Remote Sensing & GIS / Geomatics/Computer Science / Computer Application or equivalent with at least  one research paper in Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journal and; 

• M.E. / M. Tech should be in first class with an aggregate minimum of 60% or CGPA / CPI grading of 6.5 on a 10 scale or equivalent.

Knowledge of designing and developing WebGIS and geo-web services applications, GIS database creation and management and geo-analytical tools. Knowledge in Remote Sensing and GIS field. The fellowship will be offered initially for a period of one year up to March 2019 or an earlier date which shall depend on fund availability under the project. A Duration may be extended for one year or further till the duration of the project depending on the yearly performance review of the candidate and continuity of the project

NET or equivalent qualification is essential wherever prescribed. Any national level examination conducted by Central Government Department / Agencies for admission to Ph.D. programme are considered Equivalent to NET. The following examinations can also been equated to NET.

i. CSIR-UGC National Eligibility Test including NET-Lectureship.

ii. Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) conducted by MHRD.

iii. Joint Admission Test (JAM) conducted by MHRD.

iv. Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPA T) conducted by MHRD.

v. Biotechnology Eligibility Test & Test conducted in Bio-informatics by Bio-informatics National Consortium.

vi. Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST), Joint Graduate Entrance Examination for Biology & Interdisciplinary Life Sciences (JGEEBILS) conducted by the Department of Atomic Energy.

vii. JRF Entrance Examination conducted by the Indian Council of Medical Research.

viii. All India Competition Examination (AICE) conducted by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research.

ix. NET or equivalent qualified in any period.

Selection Process

Selection will be done on the basis of Walk-In-Interview Performance.

On the date of walk-in interview, the qualification of the candidates will be verified with the certificates and supporting documents and with eligibility criteria viz. age & essential qualification.

The walk-in interview of eligible candidates will be conducted by the selection committee and on the basis of the candidate's qualification and performance in the interview selection panel will be declared based on merit.

The qualification prescribed is the minimum requirement and the same does not automatically make the candidate eligible for the interview.
