High Court of Gujarat announced a notification for the posts of the Civil Judges in the state of the Gujrat. Total 75 posts are declared by the Court. All these posts are declared on a regular basis. Details of the posts are given in No. RC/0719/2018. The last date to apply online for the posts is June 06, 2018.

The Gujarat High Court is the High Court of the state of Gujrat. It was established on 1 May 1960 under the Bombay State Re-organisation Act, 1960 after the state of Gujrat split from Bombay State. The seat of the court in Ahmedabad. The present strength of the Gujarat High court is 35 against the sanctioned strength of 42.

A Candidate must possess a Degree in Law from a University recognized by law in India & must be practicing as an Advocate in Courts of Civil and/or Criminal Jurisdiction. And it is desirable for the candidates to have a Certificate(s), certifying to be possessing Basic Knowledge of Computer Application / Operation, issued by a Government Institute or other recognized Institute.
Selection of the Candidates is depended on the Three phases process:-
Phase 1:- The Preliminary Examination(Elimination Test):- The Preliminary Examination shall be of 100 Marks, the duration of the exam will be 2 Hours, consisting of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) each of 01 Mark with Negative Marking of 0.33 Mark for each Wrong / Multiple Answer. Paper Containing 75 Questions in the Preliminary Examination, will be in the English language, whereas the remaining 25 Questions will be in the Gujarati language. Syllabus for the exam is given on the Notification.
Note:-Those Candidates who will be secured a minimum of 50% Marks in the Preliminary Examination shall be declared as eligible for being called for Main Written Examination.
Phase 2:-Main Written Examination (Descriptive Type):- The Main Written Examination shall consist of Three Papers, Paper-1(Criminal Procedure), Paper-2 (Civil Procedure, ), Paper-3(Gujarati Language).The language of Question Paper-I & Question Paper-II of Main Written Examination shall be English and for Paper-3 Language is Gujrati. Candidates securing minimum 50% Marks in the Main Written Examination shall be eligible for being called for Viva-voce.
Phase 3:- Viva-voce (Oral Interview) Test:-The basic objective of the Viva-voce Test is to assess the suitability of the Candidate for the cadre by judging the mental alertness, knowledge of the law, clear and logical exposition, balance of judgment. Candidate must have obtained a minimum of 40% Marks in the Viva-voce Test.
Note:- Final Selection of the candidates is depend on the Aggregate marks obtained in Written tests and viva voice tests. The final list of the candidates will be uploaded on the Official Website.

How to apply
Examination fee:- Rs.1000/- for General and OBC candidates and Rs.500/- for SC/CT and any other candidates.
Interested Candidates can apply online through the Official Website:- http://www.gujarathighcourt.nic.in/. Click on the Current Opening option and Select apply Online for Civil Judge posts. Candidates carefully read all the instructions and apply online for the posts. Candidates can pay their examination fee through “Print Application / Pay Fee” Button through SBI e-Pay, provided on the webpage of HC-OJAS Portal. Select the Mode of Payment i.e. Online Payment or Cash-Challan (Offline).In case of Online Payment Mode, after successful payment, Candidate will get e-Receipt of the same. If Cash-Challan (Offline) Option is selected, Candidate is required to take a printout of 'Challan' and pay the requisite Fees before the Challan Expiry Date, at any of the SBI Branch, by submitting the said Challan to the Bank. Candidates, please take care of receipt of Challan for future use.
