2. Late Veteran Actor Vinod Khanna Awarded Dadasaheb Phalke Award-

Veteran Hindi film actor Shri Vinod Khanna was awarded the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for his contribution to Indian Cinema. This was announced during the 65th National Film Awards. 
 

3.    CWG 2018-   India’s total medal tally reached to 42 with 17 golds in 9th day.

Tejaswini Sawant won India its fifth shooting gold medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, winning the women's 50m Rifle 3 Positions Finals in Gold Coast, Australia.

 Fifteen-year-old shooter Anish Bhanwala became India's youngest gold medalist at the Commonwealth Games, winning the men's 25m Rapid Fire Pistol Finals with a record score at Gold Coast, Australia.

Nineteen-year-old Naman Tanwar won India its first boxing medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, winning a bronze in the men's 91 kg category.

Wrestler Bajrang Punia won his first Commonwealth Games gold medal, defeating Wales' Kane Charig by technical superiority in the men's freestyle 65 kg final in Gold Coast, Australia.

4. Kidambi Srikanth grabs the World No 1 title, first Indian to reach top spot in men’s badminton-

The 25-year-old shuttler with 76895 rating points grabs the world no. 1 title in the latest BWF World Rankings by replacing Denmark's Viktor Axelsen.

5. PM Modi Inaugurates Dr Ambedkar National Memorial-

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Dr Ambedkar National Memorial in New Delhi. The memorial is dedicated to the life and contributions of Dr. Ambedkar, the principal architect of the Constitution.


6. Index of Economic Freedom 2018: India Ranks 130th-

India has jumped 13 places in the last one year to 130th spot in the latest annual Index of Economic Freedom released by a top American think-tank the Heritage Foundation.
The top 3 countries in the list are-

1. Hong Kong

2. Singapore

3. New Zealand.

7. Eighth Regional 3R Forum concludes

The eighth 3R regional forum in Asia and pacific being held in Indore from the 9th April 2018 concluded with the adoption of chair summary by the participating nations reaffirming their commitment to promoting the principles of 3R - Reduce, Reuse & Recycle.

8. AIIB decides to invest $140M to improve Rural Connectivity in India-

Approximately 1.5 Million rural residents in State of Madhya Pradesh are going to directly benefit from improved livelihoods, education and mobility with the USD $ 140-Million loan approved by the Board of Directors of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) in a Meeting held recently in Beijing.

9. NHAI signs agreement for its First International Project

The National Highways Authority of India has signed an agreement for upgradation of Yagyi – Kalewa section of highway (Milepost 40/0 to Milepost 115/5) in Myanmar to two lane with earthen shoulder to provide seamless vehicular movement for enhancing trade, business, health, education and tourism between Indian, Myanmar and Thailand.
