The minimum distant vision without correction and without wearing glasses should be 6/6 of the better eye & upto 6/9 of the worse eye. The candidates must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes. They must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of the duties.

Selection Process

Selection will be done on the basis of following parameters -

1) REGISTRATION - On reporting of the candidate at Rally Centre, Application will be collected and name will be registered by allotting Roll Numbers on the spot. For accessing to rally ground identity proof i.e. Domicile Certificate, Aadhar No., Pan Card, Voter ID Card and Ration Card etc. could be accepted. The detailed scrutiny of the eligibility will not be undertaken by the board at the time of PET/PST and candidates however prima-facie eligibility is checked from documents to be allowed to appear in PET/PST.


(A) HEIGHT BAR TEST - At the very beginning, candidates will be asked to go through the height bar and thereby ineligible candidates with lesser height will get eliminated. (For CT/GD ONLY).

(B) RACE - The candidates who are found eligible on height parameters will undergo PET (race). The race prescribed will be qualifying in nature.

(C) IDENTIFICATION - Those who qualify in the race will be subjected to the modern biometric methods to obviate impersonation by the candidates. The biometric methods should be used at all stages of the recruitment (in the absence of computer-based biometric equipment, thumb impression digital photograph and any specific identifying mark in the body may be used).

(D) PHYSICAL STANDARD TEST - Those who are found eligible for Bio-metric identification will be subjected to height, chest and weight measurement. Relaxation in height & chest (as the case may be) will be permissible only on production of requisite caste certificate. The candidate who does not fulfil the laid down physical standard will be eliminated for participating in the further process. After qualifying in the PST/PET, intimation for appearing in the written test on the fixed date will be given to the candidate on the spot by the recruitment board.

(E) APPEAL - Appeals from candidates who are not satisfied with their physical measurement will be accepted. Following officers will act as the appellate authority in this regard:-

i) The candidate(s) who qualified in PET/PST shall be allowed to appear in written Examination subject to production of all documents.

ii) The written Examination will consist of only non-OMR based objective type multiple choice questions.

iii) The question paper will be set in Bilingual pattern i.e English & Hindi in Devnagari script.

iv) The questions relating to basic knowledge of English & Hindi will be set in English and Hindi language respectively and the candidate should answer questions relating English language in English and Hindi language in Hindi only.

v) The written examination of Constable (GD) & Constable (Tradesman) will be conducted in two shift as per the details are given below to facilitate candidate to appear in the written examination:-

a) For Constable (GD) : 1000 to 1200 Hrs.

b) For Constable (Tradesman): 1500 to 1700 Hrs.

(A) For the rank of Constable (GD) Only One Paper carrying Total - 100 Marks of 2 Hours duration with 100 questions objective type multiple choice questions carrying 01 marks each to assess the following:-

a) General awareness/knowledge.

b) Knowledge of elementary mathematics.

c) Analytical aptitude.

d) Ability to observe and distinguish patterns.

e) Basic knowledge of English/Hindi.

(B) For the rank of Constable (Tradesmen) Only One Paper carrying Total - 100 Marks consisting two parts, i.e. Part-1 knowledge expected from Class 10 pass candidates and Part-ll relating to knowledge of the trade. The duration of the written examination will be two hours as per details are given below:-

(i) PART-I (50 Questions of 01 mark each)

a) General awareness/knowledge.

b) Knowledge of elementary mathematics. 

c) Analytical aptitude.

d) Ability to observe and distinguish patterns.

e) Basic knowledge of English/Hindi.

(ii) PART-II (50 Questions of 01 mark each) Questions of this part will also have 50 objective types multiple choice questions carrying 01 marks each, separately for each trade to assess the knowledge of the candidate in the respective trade.

Candidate applying for a particular trade will be given question paper pertaining to that trade only. Minimum passing marks for qualifying the written examination for all the posts will be 33%.

(iii) The question paper will be set in Hindi & English only. Accordingly, questions relating to General awareness, General knowledge, knowledge of elementary mathematics, analytical aptitude ability to observe & distinguish patterns & concerned professional trade should be set in Hindi & English both.


a) All the candidates declared pass in written examination will undergo trade test which will be qualifying in nature.

b) Trade Test/practical assessment to be done in two events as subjective and objective i.e. practical assessment and written skill, which will be qualifying in nature. Out of 50 marks for practical Trade Test, a candidate must secure 20 marks to qualify. The details are as under: -

i) Only those candidates who have scored above the cut-off marks fixed in written examination will be allowed to appear in the medical examination. The number of candidates to be declared qualified in written test will be equal to the number of the vacancies, increased by average failure rate during last medical examination determined on the basis of past experience.

ii) The candidates will be medically examined to assess their physical & medical fitness as prescribed in the eligibility conditions laid down by MHA.

iii) Medical tests (X-Ray & Laboratory) of all candidates shall be conducted by the Medical Officer of CRPF as prescribed in eligibility criteria as per new guidelines.


i) After completion of medical examination test, District wise merit list will be drawn on the basis of the aggregate marks obtained in the written test by the candidate.

ii) In case of the tie in marks, the merit list will be prepared in the following order-

(a) The candidate older in age gets preference.

(b) If the tie still persists, it is finally resolved by referring to the alphabetical order of names i.e. a candidate whose first name begins with the alphabet which comes first in the alphabetical order gets preference.

iii) Appointment to the candidate will be given only after securing the place in the merit list and limited to availability of vacancies in respective categories.


(1) The final selection of the candidates will be made in order of merit in each category as per allotment of vacancies.

(2) The list of finally selected candidates will be displayed on the notice board of the recruitment centre and CRPF website.

How to apply

The recruitment will be conducted by a special rally system at notified District of LWE State at the respective places/location. Candidates are required to report to the recruitment centre with a duly filled application form as per proforma given in Official Notification.

The application should be typewritten or neatly handwritten on one side of foolscap A4 size plain paper. The application should be accompanied by the following documents:-

(a) Two recent passport size photographs (One should be pasted on the application form. The other photograph will bear name and signature of the candidate on the reverse).

(b) Photocopies of Matriculation certificate as proof of educational qualification and date of birth.

(c) A valid "Domicile Certificate/Permanent Residential Certificate" issued by the competent authority so authorized by the concerned State.

(d) Any other certificate in support of additional qualification.

(e) Those candidates who wish to claim relaxation on the basis of caste should produce relevant documents as per Appendix-"B" in support thereof, viz. caste certificate in respect of candidates belonging to ST from a Revenue Officer, not below the rank of Tehsildar. Those candidates who wish to claim relaxation under the Ex-servicemen category should produce documents in support thereof.

(f) Candidate should also bring original documents with them in addition to attested copies and should be produced on demand.

(g) ST Certificate:- If a candidate does not produce his/her caste certificate in any format at the time of PST/PET, he/she may not be allowed for further process and straightway rejected due to non-submission of required documents.
