It is a Central Armed Police Force charged with guarding India's land border during peace time and preventing transnational crime. BSF Recruitment or Border Security Force has announced job notification for the post of Constable. Total Vacancies are 65 and the last date to apply is 01-10-2018.

Selection Process

The selection will be on the basis of written exam.

The merit of candidates who will qualify in all events/stages of the examination will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in Written Examination. Tie cases will be resolved by applying the following methods one after another :-. (a) Date of Birth, with the older candidate, placed higher. (b) Alphabetical order in which the first name of the candidate appears.

FIRST PHASE OF THE EXAMINATION -

The Written Examination will be conducted at the selection Centres. There will be two papers of the following parts:-

(i) First Paper (Objective Type with multiple choice) Time - 01 Hour 30 Minutes.

a) General Intelligence & Reasoning - 20 Questions - 20 Marks

b) General awareness - 20 Questions - 20 Marks

c) General Engineering (Electrical) - 60 Questions - 60 Marks Total - 100 Questions carrying- 100 Marks

(ii) Second Paper (Conventional Type) Time - 02 Hours

a) General Engineering (Electrical) -10 Questions - 100 Marks (12 Questions will be given out of which 10 questions will be attempted).

(iii) The minimum qualifying marks of Written Examination in each paper:-

For General/OBC Category Candidate - 50%

For SC/ST Category Candidate - 45%

However, the number of candidates qualified in written examination will be restricted maximum ten times of the number of vacancies or qualified candidates whichever is less for appearing in 2nd phase examination.

(b) SECOND PHASE OF THE EXAMINATION - Successful candidates in the Written Examination will appear before the selection board of Second Phase Examination i.e. Documentation, Physical Standards Test & Physical Efficiency Test at respective Examination Centre on a date, which will be communicated to them through call letter as well as BSF Website (www.bsf.nic.in ). They will be put through subsequent stages. Candidates have to qualify all the stages of the Second phase of examination one by one. Any candidate not qualifying in any of the events of the examination, he will be eliminated from the process.

i) Documentation - Original testimonials/certificates of the candidates will be checked to confirm the eligibility of the candidates.

ii) Physical Standards Test (PST) - Physical Standards Test will be carried out by the selection board to assess their Height, Chest and Weight according to the Physical Standards mentioned in Educational Section.

iii) Physical Efficiency Test (PET will not carry any marks but will be of qualifying in nature) - Those candidates found fit in Physical Standards Test (PST) will be put through the Physical Efficiency Test (PET).

(c) THIRD PHASE OF THE EXAMINATION - Successful candidates in the Second Phase Examination (Documentation, PST & PET) will appear before the selection board of Third Phase Examination (Practical test & Medical Examination) at Examination Centre Delhi or nearby States on a date, which will be communicated to them through call letter as well as BSF Website (www.bsf.nic.in ). They will be put through subsequent stages. Candidates have to qualify all the stages of the Third Phase Examination one by one.

(i) Practical Test Candidates declared qualified in Second Phase Examination (Documentation, PST & PET) will be eligible to appear for Practical Test which is qualifying in nature.

(ii) Medical Examination Candidates who qualify all the above stages i.e. Written Examination, Documentation, PST, PET & Practical Test will undergo detailed Medical Examination, which will be carried out by detailed Medical Officer to assess their fitness.

(b) Recent passport size photograph at the specified placed should be affixed on the application form and admit cards. Three self-addressed envelopes of size of about 25 x12 ems with postal stamp worth Rs. 41/- each should also be attached with the application form. The envelope containing application must be super scribed in bold letters as "APPLICATION FOR RECRUITMENT OF GROUP-'C' POSTS (COMBATISED) CONSTABLE (GENERATOR OPERATOR) or CONSTABLE (GENERATOR MECHANIC) or CONSTABLE (LINEMEN) IN BSF ENGG SET UP (ELECTRICAL) -2018.

Before sending the application, the candidates must ensure that the following documents are enclosed:-

(a) Application form as per Annexure-'A' and Admit Cards as per Annexure-'B' & 'B-1' are duly filled up and signed by the candidate concerned.

(b) Latest identical passport size photographs one each on the application and Admit Cards is affixed at the specified place.

(c) Examination fee Rs. 100/- in the shape of Demand Draft or IPO in the case of male General/OBC candidates in favour of centre in charge as mentioned in para-9 above.

(d) Self-attested copy of Matriculation/School Leaving certificate or equivalent certificate as proof of age is attached.

(e) Self-attested copies of essential technical educational qualifications i.e. ITI qualification certificates in respective trade is attached.

(f) Self-attested copy of 03 years' experience certificates in respective trade from a firm recognized by the Central or the State Government is attached.

(g) Self-attested copy of documents for Identity proof like Aadhaar Card or other Identity cards as filled up by candidates in application form is attached.

(h) Self-attested copy of Caste Certificate in the case of SC/ST candidates as per prescribed format attached as Annexure-'C' with this advertisement is attached.

(i) Self-attested Copy of Caste Certificate in the case OBC candidates as per prescribed forn\.at attached as Annexure-'D' & 'D-1' with this advertisement is attached.

(j) Self-attested copy of the certificate in the case of seeking relaxation in height for persons belonging to the races (areas as mentioned in para 5) and scheduled tribes and Adivasis including Mizos and Nagas candidates as per prescribed format attached in annexure-'E' with this advertisement is attached.

(k) Self-attested copy of the certificate in the case of seeking relaxation in age is attached.

(I) Self-attested copy of discharge certificate should be enclosed by Ex-Serviceman is attached.

(m) NOC cum service certificate and disciplinary/vigilance clearance for central/State Government employees issued by the employer is attached.

(n) Two self-addressed envelopes stamped worth Rs. 41/- each size about 25/12 ems are attached.

(o) self-attested Age relaxation certificate candidates belonging to J & K during the period from. 01 Jan 1980 to 31 Dec 1989 is attached.

(p) Self-attested age relaxation certificate children and dependent family members of those who were killed in the communal riots of the year 1984 at Punjab and 2002 at Gujarat riots is attached.

(q) All photocopies of the certificate should be Self-attested by candidates.
